Arab Independent secures 12th award
The "Arab Independence" newspaper won second place in the "Qareeb" Journalism Awards for its investigative coverage of oil residues and their impact on Iraqi regions. The investigation traces the remnants left by oil companies that pollute the environment and affect residents’ lives through the use of contaminated barrels and their removal from oil fields. The award aims to highlight issues faced by marginalized communities and environmental concerns. This is the twelfth award the newspaper has received since its launch.
