Indonesia's Hybrid Fuel for Energy Security
Indonesia is working on developing and producing a new type of hybrid biodiesel by blending palm oil with petroleum diesel at a 50% ratio, aiming to boost its energy security and reduce reliance on imports. This model leverages the abundance of palm oil production, which accounts for about 60% of global demand, while facing challenges related to increasing production and market sustainability. This step is part of a long-term strategy that has been ongoing for more than 35 years, seeking to balance energy security, food security, and global markets.
