Kingdom detains 15,591 for residency violations
The field campaigns in Saudi Arabia continued to target violators of residency, work, and border security laws. During the week from 10 to 16/1/1448 AH (June 25 to July 1, 2026 AD), a total of 15,591 violators were apprehended. Among them, 7,759 were for violating residency regulations, 4,488 for border security violations, and 3,344 for work law violations. Additionally, 1,629 individuals attempting to cross the borders into the Kingdom were detained, including 46% Yemenis, 53% Ethiopians, and 1% from other nationalities. Furthermore, 58 people attempting illegal border crossings from inside the Kingdom to outside were caught. A total of 16,912 violators were referred to their embassies to obtain travel documents, and 12,292 of them were deported. The Ministry of Interior reiterated that anyone facilitating the entry, transfer, or sheltering of violators faces penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a one million riyal fine.
