A United Nations force in southern Lebanon discovered approximately 4,000 kilograms of smuggled ammonium nitrate in Houla, stored in containers bearing Hebrew writing. It is believed to have been used in demolition activities carried out by Israel. The substance was seized and neutralized to prevent any explosion. The Houla Municipality condemned the Israeli targeting, which has led to explosions since early July. The material is related to the Beirut port explosion in 2020, which resulted in over 220 deaths, marking one of the most serious explosions linked to this substance in Lebanon.
