The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration announced that the seats of hundreds of Boeing 737 Max aircraft are improperly installed, posing a risk of injury to passengers in the event of an emergency landing. The guidance includes fixing 453 planes registered in the United States, with each seat set requiring about an hour to repair, though no deadline has been specified for completion. This effort is part of ongoing system updates to address the interference risks from 5G signals with altitude measurement devices, which could affect the accuracy of altitude readings during landings in bad weather conditions. Meanwhile, Boeing achieved a lead in new aircraft orders at the Farnborough Airshow, with announcements for 173 aircraft compared to Airbus’s 154 orders, bringing the total to 327 aircraft.
