Syrian Court to Announce Verdict Next Tuesday
A Syrian court in Damascus is continuing the trial of Atef Najeeb, who is accused of committing crimes against the Syrian people during the previous regime's era, including murder, torture, and arbitrary arrests, particularly in Daraa Province, as well as being responsible for the Al-Omari Mosque massacre. The eighth session was held, and the next session is scheduled for the 11th of this month to continue the investigation and sentencing. Najeeb is a cousin of the former regime's leader, Bashar al-Assad, and faces broad charges related to human rights violations during the Syrian revolution that began in 2011.
