Food prices in Tehran have risen significantly, with the month of Tir (June–July) recording a 128.1% year-on-year increase. Meat prices surged by 145.2%, oils by 261.5%, dairy products by 147.1%, and bread by 116.7%. This price inflation has led to a deterioration in households' purchasing power, as many are buying less and avoiding certain goods, reflecting a severe economic crisis and a doubling of the poverty rate. This is taking place in a country suffering from sanctions and where the exchange rate has skyrocketed to 1.925 million rials per dollar.
