Italy warns of severe heatwave in top cities
The Italian government has issued a red alert due to the heatwave hitting the country, with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius in 27 cities, and forecasts of over 40 degrees in cities like Rome and Florence. The alert covers all regions from the north to the south and is a result of rising high temperatures and high humidity levels, posing significant health risks to the public, including the elderly, healthy individuals, and those engaging in physical activities. The heatwave is also causing water levels in rivers and lakes, especially the Po River, to drop.
