The General Authority for Food and Drug Administration in Saudi Arabia has launched the National Food Composition Database, the first of its kind in the kingdom, as part of Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives. The database aims to provide accurate and reliable data on the nutritional elements of commonly consumed foods and dishes, including energy, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fibers, using scientific methodologies to ensure quality. This initiative contributes to supporting nutritional policies, advancing scientific research, increasing health awareness, and developing local food products. It also empowers digital transformation in the health and food sectors, thereby enhancing quality of life and evidence-based planning.
