Communications Minister: Fiber subscriptions under 32%

A report from the Saudi Communications Ministry shows that the fiber optic network subscription rate within the kingdom does not exceed 32%, despite the expansion of infrastructure and the coverage of homes increasing to 5.8 million households compared to one million in 2017. The country is working on utilizing 5G networks and satellite solutions to bridge connectivity gaps in areas where fiber access is difficult, aiming to reach 50,000 households by 2028 and increase 5G coverage to 64%. Additionally, Al Bahah has seen the number of homes covered by fiber rise from 5,000 to 30,000, with coverage of basic services reaching 99%.
