Turkish Economy Grows 2.3% in Q2

Official data showed that the Turkish economy grew by 2.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, which is below the forecasts indicating a growth of 2.9%. The growth in the second quarter marked the fourth consecutive quarter of slowdown, with a slight improvement of 1.1% compared to the previous quarter after seasonal and calendar adjustments. The biggest contributor to the growth was the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector, with a 13.3% increase, followed by the information and communications sector at 8.6%. The government’s economic program forecasted an average growth of 3.8% in 2026, with a new medium-term plan to be announced in September.
