Discovery Lab, the AI startup founded by former Google employees, is seeking to raise new funding at a valuation of up to $50 billion, according to reports. The company's plans include raising $1 billion in a funding round, having previously estimated its valuation at around $10 billion. Founded in 2023 in California, Discovery Lab focuses on developing machine learning and engineering technologies and operates as a public benefit corporation. This comes during a time of increasing competition with companies like OpenAI and Google, which have undergone extensive restructuring of their executive teams to better prepare for competition in the artificial intelligence field.
