S&P Dow Jones intends to modify the eligibility criteria for the S&P/TSX Canadian indices, which may allow Anglo-Tek to be included, even though its primary base will remain in London. The adjustment permits foreign companies that have a significant and material connection to the Canadian economy to qualify for inclusion in the indices. This change will take effect in December 2026. It comes after a $53 billion merger between Anglo American and Teck Resources, which is expected to become the world's fifth-largest copper producer, with the company maintaining a strong link to Canada despite its primary listing in London.
