During the recent hours, the Houthi militias targeted a mosque in the Jazan area, resulting in significant material damage. The Houthis have repeatedly targeted religious sanctities since the beginning of the Yemeni conflict, conducting shelling and bombings of mosques and cities in an attempt to impose a climate of terror and cause widespread destruction of religious sites and holy places. It is worth noting that the international community has enacted laws prohibiting attacks on sacred sites, with punitive measures led by the International Criminal Court and UN sanctions. However, the Houthis have continued to violate these rules, demonstrating through these actions that they are exploiting religion to achieve political goals and incite violence.
