Market waits on Fed minutes for dollar stability
The US dollar stabilized against major currencies as markets awaited the Federal Reserve's meeting minutes set to be released today, which may reveal the bank's stance regarding interest rate hikes. The euro fell by 0.25% after earlier gains, while the Japanese yen and the British pound both weakened slightly. Demand for the dollar as a safe haven was supported by the Houthi attack on Aden Airport, whereas expectations suggest the Bank of Japan might hint at gradual interest rate increases. Meanwhile, global bond yields rose amid expectations of rate hikes and ongoing debt challenges faced by France and Spain.
