Italy protests face rioting and looting
Clashes between rioters and the police took place in the center of Milan, where protesters participating in a peaceful march against wars and the rising cost of living threw stones at the police and set fire to barriers and public property. As a result, the Duomo Square and the upscale shopping passage were evacuated. Police forces were injured, and around 50 protesters, including minors, were detained. The Italian Prime Minister and parents condemned the violence, emphasizing that protesting is a right, but violence is unjustifiable, amid concurrent protests with violent actions in France against the rising cost of living.
