China reaffirmed its commitment to the Global Development Initiative to strengthen partnerships and international cooperation at an event hosted by its mission to the United Nations in New York on October 30, attended by officials and experts. Chinese Ambassador Sun Lei called for improving the international economic and financial environment, expanding the transfer of technology and knowledge, narrowing digital divides, and accelerating the low-carbon transition. He said the initiative, launched by China five years ago, had mobilized more than $23 billion in financing and helped support over 1,800 projects in more than 120 countries.
