Nippon Steel raised its forecast for net profit in the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 52% to ¥440 billion ($2.8 billion), up from its previous estimate of ¥290 billion. The company attributed the increase to stronger-than-expected performance in the United States, where U.S. Steel is expected to contribute about ¥230 billion to core business profit—¥50 billion more than previously forecast—supported by higher steel prices and improved operations.
