Gold slips, weekly rise
Gold prices fell at Friday’s settlement, with spot gold down 0.3% to $4,074.36 an ounce, pressured by a stronger dollar and rising U.S. Treasury yields after jobs data came in stronger than expected. Despite the decline, spot gold gained 5.2% for the week, its strongest weekly advance since August. The data strengthened bets on a U.S. interest-rate hike in December, with the odds rising to 81% from 72.8% before the release.
