Hossam Hassan warns Egypt's players on second yellow
Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, issued a warning to his players Marwan Attia, Ahmed Fathi, and Mohanad Lashin to avoid receiving yellow cards during the World Cup 2026 match against Iran, fearing their absence from the Round of 32. This comes ahead of the match scheduled for Saturday in Seattle, where the team aims to secure either a win or a draw to guarantee qualification. The tournament relies on a fair play points system, which penalizes yellow cards by temporarily suspending them after two accumulations, in order to promote sportsmanship throughout the competition. Egypt achieved its first-ever World Cup victory with a win over New Zealand and currently leads its group with 4 points.
