Lowering medical device tax to 5% reduces service costs
The VAT on medical devices has been approved to be reduced from 14% to 5% in Egypt, with the aim of lowering healthcare costs and strengthening the local medical device industry. This move is expected to help reduce the prices of devices, decrease reliance on imports, support exports, and stabilize the foreign currency exchange rate. It is also part of a package of financial easing measures designed to enhance liquidity and improve the investment environment in the healthcare sector.
