Poets Cite Causes of Song Lyrics Decline
The current lyrics-writing market is experiencing significant changes, as the participation of some of the major poets has declined and production methods have shifted. This has led to a decrease in the quality of lyrics and a reliance on trends and unfamiliar words instead of traditional poetic structures. Several poets confirmed that the reason behind this is the changing nature of the market, the shrinking number of singers, and the focus on producing quick and commercially successful works. This shift has affected the level of content and the artistic richness of the songs. Additionally, the discussion highlighted that the absence of influential traditional figures has contributed to the decline in content quality, with an increasing emphasis on rapid, commercial success at the expense of artistic value and depth.
