Appeal ruling on Shalimar Sharbatli's insult case
The Cairo Economic Court has decided to postpone the hearing of the appeal filed by visual artist Shalimar Shorbati, wife of director Khaled Youssef, against her one-month prison sentence for insulting and libeling actress Hala Sedky, until June 30. Previously, the judiciary had issued a ruling sentencing her to one month in prison, with work, a fine of 20,000 Egyptian pounds, and payment of monetary compensation to Sedky. The case was halted at that point after the defendant submitted the necessary evidence and documentation.
