Healthcare system sees historic growth since 2014
Since 2014, Egypt's healthcare system has experienced an unprecedented boom. The Ministry of Health's allocations increased from around 42 billion Egyptian pounds to over 300 billion pounds, with expectations of further growth in the upcoming fiscal year. The comprehensive health insurance system contributed to raising the number of beneficiaries from 54 million to over 68 million citizens, aiming to provide exceptional service through digitization of procedures and integration of various agencies. In addition, presidential initiatives like "100 Million Healthy Lives" have achieved significant success in early disease detection and providing free treatment sources. Egypt has also succeeded in eliminating hepatitis C and exporting medicines to Africa, with the country increasing its local drug manufacturing rate to more than 90%.
