The Drug Authority has warned citizens against purchasing medications through social media platforms and online channels, due to risks related to the effectiveness and safety of the medications. This is especially important because the conditions of trading and storage prior to the medication reaching the patient can affect its quality. They emphasized that licensed pharmacies are the safe source for purchasing medicines, noting that there are over 86,000 licensed pharmacies in the country. Additionally, efforts are underway to update pharmacy laws to hold violators accountable and improve the regulation of medication distribution.
