The exemption period for imported phones for personal use in Egypt has been extended to 120 days for Egyptians residing abroad and tourists, up from 90 days, in order to facilitate their needs. This exemption is limited to these two groups, while phones imported within Egypt are subject to taxes and fees that amount to approximately 38.5% of the phone's value. A 90-day grace period is provided for registering the phone and paying the fees through the "Telfoni" app. Unregistered phones will be deactivated after the deadline.
