Tuchel's Departure from England National Team Will Follow After World Cup, Termination Clause Settles the Matter

A news report revealed that the future of German coach Thomas Tuchel with the England national team has become uncertain after the team's elimination from the 2026 World Cup semi-finals. The contract between Tuchel and the English Football Association includes a clause allowing for discussion of termination by mutual agreement only in the event of early exit from the tournament, such as being eliminated in the group stage or early knockout rounds, and not if the team reaches the semi-finals. Since England was knocked out of the competition, it is likely that the FA will discuss Tuchel’s future with him, especially given reports that Pep Guardiola is reconsidering coaching the national team, opening the possibility of a change in leadership.
