The International Federation of Football (FIFA) announced the presentation of new rings for the 2026 World Cup champions, marking a historic first in the tournament's history, which began in 1930. The 2026 rings are individually numbered, with 30 rings allocated to the winning team and 1,996 rings available for global sale. The ring symbolizes achievement and success and is likely to be awarded to the winner during the trophy ceremony in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump. This step is inspired by traditions from American professional sports, where the ring is a permanent symbol of victory, and it is the first time FIFA has adopted this practice at the World Cup level.
