The Red Sea Governor, Walid El Borgi, issued decisions to regulate the pricing and transportation of water via private tankers ("Fantass"), aiming to achieve discipline and transparency. A maximum price of 140 Egyptian pounds per cubic meter of water has been set, covering all costs, with the prohibition of any additional charges. It was also ordered that vehicles be painted with signs clearly displaying the price, the hotline number, and complaint information. Additionally, a strict monitoring system has been activated, with violators subject to fines of up to 100,000 Egyptian pounds, administrative penalties, and increased sanctions for repeat offenders. These measures are intended to reduce manipulation and ensure the fair distribution of water at reasonable prices for citizens, while urging the public to report violations through official communication channels.
