Continent Federations Accuse Infantino
The article concerns a major crisis between the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, and the European, Asian, and North American continental associations. The dispute stems from the proposed "FIFA Forward" project, which aims to manage commercial rights and ticket sales through a new company with a 20% stake allocated to a private investment firm. The continental associations have led strong resistance and accused FIFA leadership of breaching trust and deceiving the union, calling for an independent review of the events. FIFA's official response condemned the attacks, amid anticipation of the outcomes of the independent report to determine the future of global football governance.
