UEFA, AFC, CONCACAF criticize Infantino
A joint statement issued by UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation, and CONCACAF highlighted criticism directed at FIFA President Gianni Infantino, accusing him of deception and breach of trust entrusted to him, due to failures in managing the sport and leadership integrity. The statement confirmed that the achievements of football are the result of joint efforts among various entities, not individual actions, and that collective decisions, such as expanding the FIFA World Cup tournaments, should remain unchanged. The statement also criticized FIFA's attempt to sell a stake in the World Cup without sufficient consultations, deeming this a betrayal of trust and a violation of transparency and integrity principles. It called for an independent review of the decision-making process. The statement pointed out that current leadership behavior reflects a disregard for accountability and emphasizes the need for humble leadership that promotes unity and transparency within the football community.
