The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has referred four mobile companies to the public prosecution due to the registration of mobile lines under citizens' names without their knowledge or possession of them. This followed inspection procedures and investigations into complaints regarding lines registered under names that are not the true owners. As part of these measures, the authority notified the companies to cease the sale and activation of new lines, and ordered them to send messages to the owners of existing lines to update their information or cancel the lines. The authority is also working to enhance biometric verification procedures. The authority emphasized that any violations will be met with legal and administrative actions, including referring the cases to the prosecution, to ensure the protection of users' rights and personal data.
