The surge in poultry supply in the market has led to a sharp decline in prices, resulting in significant losses for producers who are facing an overproduction exceeding 25%. The head of the Poultry Division called for protecting producers by establishing an urgent auction market and forming an advisory board composed of experts under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, to ensure price stability and safeguard producers. He confirmed that the government will include locally frozen and chilled poultry on ration cards starting from next January, making them available at low prices for citizens, with the aim of reducing Salmonella bacteria contamination and achieving market stability.
