Security authorities have uncovered the details behind a video that circulated on social media showing a woman claiming that she witnessed thefts of manhole covers in Cairo. It was revealed that the workers featured in the video are employed by a contracting company contracted by a government entity to carry out a project to upgrade the water networks. They were performing their duties when the woman filmed them. Investigations confirmed that the woman believed they were stealing the covers and she posted the video without verifying the matter. She has been detained, and legal measures have been taken against her.
