The article highlights the discovery by Member of Parliament Walaa Hermas, a member of the Senate Education Committee, that there are six mobile lines registered in her name with a single company, without her knowledge. This was revealed after reviewing her data on the "My NTRA" application. It explains that the House of Representatives possesses oversight tools such as inquiry requests and public discussions to address issues related to lines being registered in citizens' names without their consent—especially following the case of student Amr Emara, who used a phone registered in his name in a drug-related case without his knowledge. The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority confirmed that it has received approximately 23,000 complaints about lines registered in citizens’ names without their permission. It is also working on a biometric verification system to ensure the integrity of the line registration process, urging citizens to review their lines and report any unknown lines registered in their names.
