The death toll from the floods that struck the Himalaya region in Nepal last week has risen to 1,127, with search efforts ongoing for over 4,000 missing persons. It is believed that the disaster was caused by the collapse of a glacier in the Tibetan side, and the full extent of the damage remains unclear even a week after the floods swept through the area, carrying water, mud, ice, and debris. Additionally, 16 deaths have been recorded in the Chinese Tibet region. The World Health Organization has warned of the risk of disease outbreaks due to poor living conditions, with increased dangers from pollution and the spread of infectious diseases among the displaced populations.
