On September 2, 2026, it was reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed to have destroyed the command and residence of the American leader at Al Sulaimiyah Base in Kuwait, in addition to destroying several drones and causing fires in their hangars and launchpads. The attack was a response to the killing of four civilians at a wedding in Hormozgan Province during an Iranian raid, which also injured around 70 people. Iranian forces launched missile and drone strikes on American bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq. Tensions escalated as Iran announced strikes on American targets and threatened oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States responded with a series of strikes against Iranian targets. Unconfirmed reports indicated that there were casualties.
