Tourism Releases Pilgrimage Regulations
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has approved the regulations and guidelines governing the 1448 Hijri / 2027 Gregorian Hajj tourism season. The aim is to develop the Hajj tourism system and ensure the provision of high-quality services to pilgrims. The regulations include starting the registration of applicants for the Hajj lottery through Egyptian travel agencies from September 4th to September 27th, with a public electronic draw announced on September 30th. The measures also cover organizing contractual relationships between companies and pilgrims, and adopting digital tools such as the "Rafiq" application to monitor journeys and enhance supervision. Additionally, the regulations mandate listing passenger data on luggage and providing designated areas for camps. The quality of services will be evaluated through a rating system involving pilgrim participation. The guidelines emphasize safety standards and ground transportation, including the use of modern buses from 2023 models and the requirement for qualified drivers. They also include organizing program quality and pricing according to different service levels, with strict adherence to organizational principles and safety throughout the season.
