Interior Ministry clarifies on pilgrimage coverage
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the statements issued by the Journalists Syndicate regarding the banning of some journalists from covering the Hajj draw in Monufia Governorate are incorrect. It clarified that all journalists who participated met the legal requirements and obtained the necessary permits. The ministry also stated that the lists provided by the journalistic institutions have all been approved, and that some journalists who were previously affected were aware of the filming regulations. Meanwhile, the Freedom Committee of the Journalists Syndicate expressed its solidarity with the journalists in Monufia, considering that their prohibition infringes upon their legitimate right to cover the event and violates the constitution and the laws governing journalism and media. The ministry was also urged to end these restrictions and facilitate the journalists' work, in recognition of the citizens' right to information and the freedom of the press.
