Medical tips for a healthy school environment
As children return to school, the chances of infection transmission among them increase, which requires taking preventive measures to ensure a healthy environment and reduce the risk of illnesses. Pediatric experts, especially Dr. Haitham Hussein, recommend simple habits such as consistently washing hands for 20 seconds, covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing, and avoiding sharing personal items, as these practices help decrease the spread of contagious diseases. It is also emphasized that children should stay home if they have a fever for 24 hours and do not need to miss school for mild colds or coughs without accompanying fever symptoms. Additionally, it is advised to vaccinate children with seasonal vaccines, like the flu shot, and to ensure proper standards are maintained in kindergartens, such as good ventilation, cleaning of toys, and providing a safe environment for the children, to ensure their health and safety throughout the school year.
