Iranian mourners carried the coffins of victims of an American airstrike that targeted a wedding celebration in the village of Koohestak in Sirik County on the Persian Gulf coast. The strike, which occurred on Tuesday, resulted in four deaths and approximately 70 injuries, according to Iranian officials. The U.S. military confirmed that it does not intend to target civilians, while Iranian officials described the attack as an assault on civilian homes. The festivities included a funeral for a four-year-old child who was killed in the strike. The American airstrike was in response to Iranian attacks on shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, and tensions between the two sides have escalated following these operations.
