The media has been abuzz with debate regarding allegations that poet Amr Qotb's team stole lyrics from a song "Dahja" by singer Mostafa Qamar, which had been sent to him in advance for collaboration. However, poet Mody Nabil denied there was any substantial similarity between the two songs, emphasizing that the use of words like "Dahja" (commotion) and "Rajja" (stir) is common and recurrent in songs. He pointed out that the time gap between the two works makes copying unlikely, noting that Mody Nabil wrote the song in 2024, while Amr Qotb's song was sent in 2025. He also stated that the use of popular words does not constitute plagiarism, as the difference lies in the phrasing and concept. Mody Nabil confirmed that he continues to collaborate with Mostafa Qamar on new projects, including participating in the upcoming album "Fawq el-Qamar" ("Above the Moon"), and working on songs with other artists.
