Awqaf releases 15 mln pound loan installment
In preparation for the start of the upcoming academic year, the Ministry of Awqaf plans to disburse a new batch of interest-free loans amounting to 15 million Egyptian pounds, benefiting more than 833 borrowers working within the ministry and its affiliated entities, with a maximum of 25,000 pounds for each. The initiative, called "Al-Qard Al-Hasan" (The Good Loan), allocates 100 million pounds during the current fiscal year, with no interest or administrative fees. It targets specific groups, including widows, people with disabilities, patients with chronic or severe illnesses, and employees who have only one year left before reaching retirement age. Priority will be given to humanitarian and social cases, supported by relevant documents confirming the situations. Disbursement operations are expected to begin in the coming days to ensure eligible recipients benefit before the start of the new academic year.
