The new Criminal Procedure Law project has organized remote investigation and trial procedures using modern communication tools and technologies, ensuring that all procedures are recorded and preserved in official transcripts, with the possibility of being supplemented by experts. The law allows the defendant to object to not appearing personally before the court in the first session, and permits their attendance at a session without restraints. The defendant also has the right to meet with their lawyer during remote procedures. Additionally, the Ministry of Justice, in coordination with relevant authorities, is working to prepare the necessary halls and equipment to ensure the effective implementation of these procedures in correctional facilities and judicial cities.
