Israel has opened its first embassy in Slovenia, a move that strengthens relations between the two countries, despite ongoing protests supportive of the Palestinians demanding the closure of the embassy. These protests occur amid the deterioration of Israel’s relationships with some of its allies due to its policies in the settlements. Israeli Foreign Minister Yad Aaron Sair led the opening ceremony and described it as a "historic day," noting that Israel defends Europe and its security. During the visit, hundreds of protesters gathered. This step comes after the United Kingdom, France, and Canada imposed bans on trade with Israeli settlements, reflecting Israel’s increasing regional isolation. In response, Israel closed the British consulate in Jerusalem.
