Expansion of Natural Gas in Upper Egypt
The natural gas network in Upper Egypt governorates continues to expand steadily, with gas connected to over 2.2 million domestic customers and 9,432 commercial customers as of June 2026, in addition to 202 industrial facilities. During the 2025/2026 year, gas was connected to more than 146,000 new domestic customers, with a target to add over 179,000 customers in 2026/2027. Gas networks have also been developed as part of the "Hayah Karima" (Decent Life) project, reaching 374 villages with a completion rate of 88%.
