Store closing times after winter time change
The winter schedule has begun in Egypt, with the opening and closing times for shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues adjusted in accordance with the decision by the Ministry of Local Development, which has been in effect since December 2020. As of today, Friday, October 2, 2026, the new closing times are as follows: restaurants, cafes, shops, and malls close at 11:00 PM. They open at 5:00 AM for restaurants and cafes, and at 7:00 AM for shops and malls. Workshops and craft activities operate until 6:00 PM. There are exceptions to this rule, including grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, fruit and vegetable vendors, poultry shops, wholesale markets, and pharmacies, which remain open throughout the day.
