The Islamic world is preparing to welcome the month of Ramadan for the year 1448 AH, which is expected to begin astronomically on Monday, February 8, 2027, and last for 29 or 30 days, according to astronomical calculations. The official announcement will follow after the sighting of the new moon. Eid al-Fitr is anticipated to fall on March 10, 2027, based on the sighting of the Shawwal moon; however, the actual date of the Eid depends on the decision of the competent authorities regarding the moon sighting as per Islamic jurisprudence. The moon sighting activities will continue to confirm the start dates of the Hijri months, relying on both astronomical calculations and traditional lunar sighting methods.
