Reasons for 2027 Joy Awards cancellation
Media reports have circulated about Saudi Arabia's intention to cancel the 2027 "Goya Awards" ceremony scheduled in January as part of the Riyadh Season events, due to budget cuts. However, no official announcement confirming the cancellation or a change of date has been issued so far. The ceremony holds a prominent position in the arts and entertainment field, annually honoring stars from the Arab world and globally. It was expected that next year's edition would see a wide attendance and competitions for various awards, but its fate remains uncertain until an official statement is released by the organizing authorities.
