FFP Blocks Morocco from Nigeria's Ranking Record
The Moroccan national team dropped in the FIFA rankings after a friendly draw with Mali, ending 1-1. They lost 2.85 points, bringing their total to 1,805.34 points, which caused them to fall from fifth to seventh place. Had they maintained their victory, they would have reached fifth place, the highest ranking ever achieved by an African team, a record Nigeria set in April 1994. The decline occurred less than 72 hours before the monthly rankings were released and was also influenced by Portugal's superiority over Norway.
